     Many people are not sure how many times per day should you wash your face and body in order to preserve the youthful look of your skin.  I am not kidding!  This questions has been presented to us on more than one occassion.  So we are going to oblige and help those who may have that question because they are seeking the healthiest of skin for their face and body.    

     We are going to tell you from a dermatologist experience and professional point of view. First, I want you to ask yourself...how many times per day do you wash your face?  How many times per day do you wash your body?  Did you answer for your face one, two, three, four times per day?  Your body twice a day... once...three times per day?  Well, let's see what the dermatologists says: 

"Wash your face, but not too often.'   'It may be very tempting to cleanse your face every time it gets oily. But in fact, over-cleansing can make your skin produce extra oil. Wash your face 2 to 3 times a day, maximum. Two times per day is optimal."

     Most skincare professionals suggest moisturizing twice a day, once in the morning and once at night. This ensures your skin's moisture will remain constant both throughout the day and while you sleep, so you can always look forward to actual supple, healthy looking skin. 

        Further, according to the Harvard Health Publishing, Harvard Medical School, they say:

"Normal, healthy skin maintains a layer of oil and a balance of “good” bacteria and other microorganisms. Washing and scrubbing removes these, especially if the water is hot. Antibacterial soaps can actually kill off normal bacteria. This upsets the balance of microorganisms on the skin and encourages the emergence of hardier, less friendly organisms that are more resistant to antibiotics.  Our immune systems need a certain amount of stimulation by normal microorganisms, dirt, and other environmental exposures in order to create protective antibodies and “immune memory.” This is one reason why some pediatricians and dermatologists recommend against daily baths for kids. Frequent baths or showers throughout a lifetime may reduce the ability of the immune system to do its job."

It is suggested that we bath only two to three times per week.  Many cultures such as China only baths two to three time per week but Americans have been culturally tought different. So we are more prone to damage our skin without even knowing.
